HOW IT STARTED

Restoring history, serving warmth, creating moments that last.

Liam Ganley, a construction project manager turned publican with a passion for restoring history and creating places people love.

The Global Financial Crisis of 2011 became the catalyst for Liam’s move from the west of Ireland to Melbourne, where a new chapter began. While he hadn’t worked behind the bar before, a lifetime spent on the other side of it had already given him a deep appreciation for what makes Irish pubs so enduring. In Ireland, the pub is more than just a place to drink—it’s the beating heart of the community, a cornerstone of daily life, and a space where warmth, laughter, and connection thrive.

That spirit of Irish hospitality runs through every Ganley Group venue. Each restoration project honours the legacy of its building, preserving community icons while reimagining them for the future. At the heart of the business are the values that define the group: unpretentious quality, effortless experiences, people who care, and distinctly local venues held to a collective standard of excellence.

Ganley Group remains committed to breathing new life into Melbourne’s heritage landmarks and shaping them into unforgettable places to gather, venues that feel familiar the first time you walk through the door, and even better every time you return.

The Ganley Group team gathered outdoors, smiling, holding drinks, celebrating together, several raising their glasses and showing peace signs.
